Exercise 4: Left Hand Mechanics < >

These exercises are are made to increase your left hand's dexterity and speed.  The goal of these exercises is to make each finger on your left hand function as independently as possible.  Basically, you want to be able to do the same things with every finger without affecting the other fingers to a great degree.  By the nature of the human hand, they are not equal so you have to practice to offset this problem.

Exercise A:
Left Hand Exercise 1 - Hammerons, Pulloffs

Exercise A works on your hammer-ons and pull-offs You should focus on playing each note evenly.  Each hammer-on and each pull-off should be played evenly clearly and with relative ease.  Start slow and build yourself up gradually.  This exercise should help you develop a steady fretting hand.  Use all four of your fingers for this exercise.
